Transferring your number

You can transfer your mobile number to Dodo by selecting the option when activating your Dodo mobile SIM card.

  • If your existing service is pre-paid, we require the mobile service number and the date of birth provided when that service was created.
  • If your existing service is post-paid, we require the mobile service number and the account number of the service you wish to transfer to Dodo.

If you are transferring your number from another provider, your service should be active within 4 hours, but may take  up to 24 hours.

Keep your original sim card in your handset, once your SIM stops working, just replace it with your Dodo SIM card and you're done!

 

Once your service has been activated, turn your device off, then back on again.

5G services are currently only on $33 and $38 Dodo Mobile plans. If you don’t have either one of these plans and own a 5G compatible device, don’t worry, your 5G compatible device will still operate with a Dodo mobile SIM via the 4G network.

Compatible handsets and devices

 

To use your Dodo mobile SIM, you will need to have a 4G/5G compatible mobile device*.

From October 28 2024, your device must be Triple Zero (000) compliant, as Dodo are required by law to block mobile phones that cannot call Triple Zero (000). Please check if you need to upgrade your handset in advance:

*This service is not compatible with e-SIM or any devices (like watches) that use e-SIM to connect to the mobile network.

Please ensure that your device is not locked to another carrier, to ensure operation.

Once your order is placed you’ll get your new Dodo SIM card in the post within a couple of business days.

Once you receive your new Dodo Mobile SIM, simply visit dodo.com/activate to activate.

How do I activate my Dodo SIM?

A one-time passcode is a way for us to protect the privacy of our customers, ensuring that the service holder is the one who is requesting the transfer of their mobile number.

As part of the sign-up process, a one-time passcode will be sent to the mobile number you are wishing to transfer via SMS, so make sure you have that handy.

Once we have verified the passcode entered, you will be able to complete the transfer of your service to Dodo mobile.

If you suspect that your mobile service number has been fraudulently transferred to Dodo, you should immediately report the activity to either (a) the Australian Federal Police or the relevant State or Territory Police; (b) Scamwatch at www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam; and (c) report the transfer of service to your mobile phone provider.

Transferring your number

 

Transferring (porting) your number to Dodo is quick and easy, and is usually complete within 4 hours of submitting your activation request.

Keep your original sim card in your handset, once your SIM stops working, just replace it with your Dodo SIM card and you're done!

When transferring a number to Dodo please ensure that all relevant information is supplied to avoid any activation delays.

Once your service has been activated, turn your device off, then back on again.

Once you have placed an order for a Dodo SIM you will not be able to change the delivery address.

If you need to specify a different delivery address, visit dodo.com/mobile and order a new SIM card using the updated address details.

Can I track my SIM card?

When transferring a number to Dodo Mobile, we need to match information with the previous carrier, such as an account number for post paid accounts or a date of birth for a pre-paid service.

If the information provided does not match, we will contact you via SMS and email, you’ll then need to login to MyDodo to provide the required information.

Once you have done that, we will resubmit your activation request.

Just follow these easy steps: 

Enter the SIM card number, your personal details, select your plan and you’re done!

If you are transferring your number from another provider, your service should be active within 4 hours, but may take up to 24 hours. We will let you know when the transfer is complete. 

Once your service has been activated, turn your device off, insert your Dodo Mobile SIM, then turn your device back on.

*If you ordered a replacement SIM card, you can activate it via MyDodo
